I reinforced the door hinge in this area because I didn't think it was strong enough.
Just placed back in the control box for the jacknife doors. Made some minor changes.
Nice to get it's identity plate back on

I'm not in the mood to do any major jobs so I have been looking at doing some of these smaller but also necessary ones. I am re-using these grab rail brackets again mainly just to recycle some old bits plus the fact they are really think and can be re-used.
They go on an internal frame which was interestingly rusted out.
The brackets themselves which are around 5mm think had some deep corrosion in them.

Sorry! No prizes for where this panel belongs.
Any ideas on how this around the fuel filler can be inproved.
This for me is a no no.

Being such a big job it is easy to forget things.
Placing internal panels back on I forgot to put back these threads to hold the grab rails.
Here ready to weld.

Sometimes things just happen that you can't explain.
This is one of them. This bracket attaches the bearer to the chassis and it has just broken off.
Fatigue or maybe a sideways prang, who knows.

With the crossmember out of the way I had easier access.

Anyone that is interested here are the differences between the original single deck bus chassis and the double decker chassis they used for a single deck bus. This is off a Daimler. You can see here the forks coming down at an angle. They have been cut off and a different way of bringing it up to floor level was used on this bus. The curious thing about this bus was they used the older style design for the body type.
