Mechanicals December

Norman Julian 23rd Dec
It has been a while I know.
Life steps in and so does mowing.
8 acres is a bit to do especially nearly every week.
I have to make a lot of room on my large work bench for the new roof sheets which some are 2.7 metres.
They need to be on a flat surface.
Anyway, I thought it was time to put the radiator back on.
I took her apart and put it on in 2 parts.
The radiator itself, then put the shroud on afterwards.
Reason being I didn't want to scratch the new chrome that cost a fortune years ago.

Merry Christmas to all my followers and a happy new year.
Today or more the point this afternoon I wanted to do some adjusting with the radiator.
The bar pictured has one job and that is to hold secure the top of the radiator to the bus.
I remember ages ago the radiator looked like it was away from the body a bit but never worried
at the time because it was being stripped down.
Now though I wanted to fix that problem only to find all the adjusting bolts wouldn't budge.
I took the rod out and placed it in the vice but the nuts still wouldn't budge no matter what I did.
In the end I cut 3 of them off.
The peculiar thing was trying to undo the top inside nut it was deforming the thread.
I have never come across that before.
There was damage done to the threads trying to get them off.
The picture shows that I have retapped the threads and I will put new bolts on.
It will now be a breeze to adjust it.
