Very sweet sound of a leyland 600 engine in 2632 first start after doing some repairs to the injector pump
John Lidstone
My word that's an engine that sounds like it's worked hard during its life.....still got that Leyland 'crackle' on a keen tick over.
Our ones in Southend didn't have a hard life so you don't get that 'heavy over-run' almost dull 'thump' to the engine note.
Norman Julian
I think this is from a first series 31 seater. OPS2/1
Edward Parker
Norman Julian yes correct
Norman Julian
Edward Parker good one
Norman Julian
That's what 2818 looked like after its first start up.
All those fibres floating around in the air were what was left of the fan belts.
John Lidstone
yes that's a sight I've never seen.
The only thing I've seen flying from an O.600 is diesel from a leaky injector pipe connection!
Edward Parker
Norman Julian alot of stuff blowing around is from high wind yesterday this one been started before just first start after i pulled down injector pump and repaired it as its old one was faulty.
Runs like clockwork now
Edward Parker
John Lidstone no leaking injector pipes.
The fuel is from bleeding
John Lidstone
Edward I wasn't referring to this video, but my own time driving Leyland Titan PD3s and AEC Routemasters with Leyland O.600 engines.
Edward Parker
John Lidstone yeah ok thought you were referring to this one yes it flies everywhere when you have leking injector pipe
