There has been a few people ask me about this bus being built on a double decker chassis and also AEC etc.
I put these photos up to better explain.
The first photo is a typical d/decker rear platform.
You can see the 2 forks that a steel frame has been built on for the timber flooring to be screwed on to.
The forks are lower than the existing chassis so as to hop on easier.
The next picture in primer is a single deck bus chassis.
The chassis is of equal length from front to back.
The next photo is this project, the Leyland rear platform with a "Z" pattern frame that is built on top of the fork section to the same level as the rest of the floor.
The AEC is done the same.
The last photo is the Daimler double decker chassis.
This has been done a little different with the forks been actually cut off and replaced with a steel structure that is level with the existing floor.
You may have to have a closer look at that photo to see and understand.
I hope you now get a better understanding.
