- Just a small request.
- If anyone has any prewar 12 volt globes and bayonet housings they may not want or need, I would be interested in them. Also any derelects lying around that may still have the light fittings in them I would also like to hear about them. Thanks everyone.
- Carle Gregory
- Ii MIGHT have some headlight globes from the 50s?
- before sealed beam became the norm
- Brian Hooper
- Any photos.
- Got some globes i think new in box
- Norman Julian
- I have just been informed that they are large bayonet.
- They would be the same as an old light bulb as far as the bayonet is concerned but a small bulb.
- To be honest I don't know what they look like.
- Whether they are small or large bayonet.
- Sometime between 1939 and the later model buses they became 24 volt all round.
- The ones I have in them now are all modern and I want to go back to original.
- Someone like David Wilson, Scott Wilson or Bob Gioia would know.
- Bob Gioia
- Norm.
- B22 bayonet cap size bulbs.
- Almost impossible to buy now.
- Norman Julian
- Yeah that is what I have been told.
- That's why I put out the SOS for someone that may have some or know of an old wreck.
- Brian Blunt
- Are these for headlights or interior lights?
- Norman Julian
- Internal Brian
- Norman Julian
- Here is one.
- This is actually a 12 volt bulb
- Carle Gregory
- i think the ones i have are headlight types and the glass bit is elongated
- Brian Hooper
- Mine had a contact like i bigger brake globe.
- Brian Blunt
- Are the single or dual contact?
- Norman Julian
- Brian Hooper
- I think i have them!!!!
- Brian Hooper
- Going farm soon.
- Norman Julian
- How would you have them, Brian?
- Norman Julian
- They are the same size bayonet as a normal light globe
- Brian Hooper
- Norman Julian ebay for my early morris.
- Brian Hooper
- Got them 16 years ago.
- Nos.
- Norman Julian
- very close Brian Hooper
- Scott Wilson
- Brian Hooper Early Holden, Ford, Vauxhall headlight globe.
- Brian Blunt
- Brian Hooper this is a twin filament headlight globe, not quite what he is after.
- You used to be able to buy standard size incandescent BC lamps in 12 and 24 v, but these may be too big to go in the bus fitting?
- Chris Dempsey
- Everything else fails ask the bus museum at Liechhardt Norm its worth a shot
- Norman Julian
- Done that first up Chris.
- No go!
- Brian Blunt
- Are these too big? https://www.micalighting.com.au/60w-b22-gls-incandescent...
- Brian Blunt or http://www.electricalproducts.com.au/10-pack-x-12-volt-15...
- Norman Julian
- Trouble is [and thanks for that Brian] is these are standard size bulbs which are far too big.
- If I can't get the right ones I will change the system over to 24 volt.
- Haven't looked into it yet but will see.
- Norman Julian
- For those that don't know.
- This system is both 12 and 24 volt.
- The starter needs 24 volt to operate the starter and the rest of the bus is 12 volt.
- They eventually went to 24 volt all round including the internal lights.
- This one though has 12 volt.
- Brian Blunt
- Can you get these globes in 24v?
- Norman Julian
- yes hundreds and hundreds
