Questions February

Norman Julian 10th Feb
I was asked the question whether I will restore this bus pre war or post war specs.
Well to me it doesn't matter but post war is looking the favourite.
Here is the main reason.
The red and cream version here is a TD4 which is a few years older and has been restored to prewar specs and mine is postwar specs.
To start with I have to get 2 headlights to suit which isn't a problem but I have to move the drivers air vent and get a headlight bowl for the light to sit in.
For the other headlight a bracket that would have to be period would have to be found that fits the bill.
There is also a bus that has already been done anyway so we don't need another.
I don't wish to create more work for myself anyway.

Norman dont create extra work for your self
The most important issue is Do You enjoy fresh air on your feet or not my recommendation is green is a cool colour and cooler feet you will have
Philip Tumber
Charles Shipway with a hot engine sitting next to you ANY ventilation is a necessity !
Charles Shipway
Philip Tumber your not wrong I drove one for awhile doing Sunday school runs plus plenty of old clunkers with front mounted engines over the years even when I retired there only two air conditioned buses out of five or so on route work and all the charter school buses were Air naturale and that was only six years ago
Norman Julian
Not an issue now with the AEC. She is both sound and heat insulated.
Charles Shipway
Good on ya Norman a little newer technology hidden away from the purest
Norman Julian
Yep!
What you can't see you can't criticise.
David Oaten
My wish would be for it to be green and cream.
It will look sensational
Norman Julian
You will probably get you wish David Oaten.
David Oaten Thank you Norman! Parked next to 1635, it will show the contrasts between the two
