Has anyone got a 494 route they can share.
Norman Julian
Someone told me once the 494 route was one of the longest routes at that time.
This is in the early seventies.
Can anyone verify that?

490 (York St - Earlwood- Drummoyne) was probably the longest on the south side

Rover Motor counted Double Deckers for over fifty years, beginning in the 1930s.
The company's Double Decker fleet included former Government vehicles, like prewar AEC Regent 1403.
The bus is heading past The Bellbird Hotel on Wollombi Road in Cessnock.

Anyone for a MTT Adelaide TD-5 ?.
110 and another in a yard at Gepps Cross, Adelaide in the 1970s
There were only three in the fleet and all were retired prior to 30/6/54
I'm afraid time hasn't been kind to Adelaide's prewar diesels (photo late Bruce Harris)

The windows appear to be different to ours, David.
David Wilson
they are
Ben Summers
Was the chassis shorter as well?
David Wilson
yes 16''6"
Ben Summers
I guess none survive?
David Wilson
don't think any of Adelaide's prewar diesels survive now.
AEC 104 was in preservation but is now lost
Ben Summers
That's a pity.
Norman Julian
Explain how something can be in preservation and than lost.
That's amazing!
David Wilson
Norman Julian
It's happened a number of times
Ben Summers
All it takes is for something to fall into the wrong hands, Norman.
Chris Dempsey
They say 110 went to Marree for railway work 1955-57
