Being winter here in Orange the weather is mostly rubbish so little work is being done.
I did however do some work on this radiator frame before it goes in to get cleaned.
These 8 bolts are a little oversize to what was there. These hold the grill in position.
There were only 5 of the 8 doing the job and they all snapped getting them out.
That's a relatively straightforward job drilling what's left of the old bolt and just
retapping the thread and putting back what was there which I did on those 5 but when I got to the last 3 the holes were too big for the original size.
Most would have just tapped the remainder to the next size up which I did by the way but . . . I went back and did the same with the ones I already did.
Sorry but not in my DNA to have 2 different size bolts in a uniform situation like this.
The Leyland badge was the same scenario but with slot head countersunk screws.

Bit of OCD kicking in Norman?
I can relate to that it would bug me forever.
Great work.

Just a catch up on proceedings.
This radiator shroud is ready to go and get cleaned and blasted.
The tanks will be cleaned and the insides of the sides of the shroud will be bead blasted to pretty it up.
The main outside surface wont be touched till it gets back home so I can work out what needs to be done.
All the troublesome broken bolts and studs have been dealt with.
Only one bottom tank stud broke which is ashame because these studs have a course thread sits in the tank but a fine thread for the nut on top.
In between all this I'm still working on each individual tube and the loop fins for both this radiator and the AEC which drives me nuts.
It is very slow work.

You keep getting good results though.
