Over the winter months I will be overhauling the radiator.
Last year I made a start with the restoration of the radiator cap.

Norman Julian ok thank you for that so believe me it's still.yours my legs are so bad now l have to get a mate to climb a ladder to take it off the wall in my garage.
😁👍
Norman Julian
Thanks for the thought.
Just leave it on your wall
Terry Davis
Norman Julian just in it case you think I'm bullshitting l went out into my freezing garage to show you
IT IS on my garage wall along with about 50 badges and I DO need a mate to get it down for you.
I am 81 & my legs are that bad l use a "Walker" when l go out & a walking stick around the house.
🙄👍

I started pulling down the radiator today.
Once again like the OPDY2 radiator this one is in a sad state.
Quite a few bolts have already broken off with still lots to come before the top and bottom tanks come off.
Just before I knocked off for the day I managed to take 2 tubes off and they were both blocked completely.
They will all have to be soaked to clear them.
This radiator uses the same rubber seals that the other radiator had.
When this is done that will make 3 radiators done.
I will do the Albion radiator at some stage.

Took nearly all day to take these tubes out and unlike the other radiator (Leyland) I did the rubber seals wanted to hang on.
I went through a whole can of soluble oil to do it.
I will have to get new seals.
This frame doesn't want to come apart.
I will have to be careful with these bolts holding both the top and bottom tanks together.
Another issue is the rubber bush that is pressed into the side supports of the radiator.
The metal seating cup caps that helps support the bush has just about rusted away on one side and just starting to go through the other.
The rubber itself on one side has perished so much that it has formed a concave shape instead of being flat.
Might take 2 minutes to work that one out.
I'm actually thinking I may leave the radiator as is and get it cleaned without disturbing anything else.

Work as usual thanks for the photos
