Norman Julian 12 Jan Happy New year everyone! Been lots of other things going on but hopefully I have caught up and can start back on what I like. This year I want to work on the TD5. The original grill wouldn't do justice to the rest of the radiator that was restored so a new one is in order. Sitting down and thinking about how I was going to do it wasn't a completely straightforward idea. Because the mounting holes are in a certain position welding new vertical bars evenly apart from one side to the other won't work and have to be in a certain position to avoid being in the way of the mounting bolts. Here I have made a new top and bottom plate and placed the original crank handle flange ring in position ready to weld on. I placed the top and bottom new sections of the grill in position and bolted them on. Now I will weld on some temporary bracing from the top pkate to the bottom plate to keep them in position so as to then take them off in one section and then weld the verticle bars in position. Because the bars on the TS7 radiator are spaced further apart then the TD5 it will be easier to get more accurate spacing. Firstly I will weld the bars on either side of the mounting bolts and then space the others to suit.

Happy New Year to you as well, Norman.
