Electrical December

Norman Julian 14 Dec
A few things went back on today.
The auto vacuum and the 3 steel lines which were inspected for leaks and painted.
I put some clamps on to hold the steel lines to the fire wall.
Only 2 of the 5 clamps were still there.
I also took off the engine bay light switch.
That needs doing.
I like pulling apart these old switches and bayonet fittings.
They come completely apart.

Bit more work done.
The switch fell apart in my hand taking it apart.
Also the mounting box didn't like being tampered with.
A new mounting box and a new switch was needed.
A little more work done on the pump.
It is surprising how well bakelite comes up polishing on a buffing wheel.

Those switches are still available new from a few places.
Not sure on the lampholders, but they are likely available as well.
They arent cheap though. Had to source switches a while back for a heritage building.

What was to what is now! Instead of one screw in the middle.
Now it is held on much more firmly.
