Norms Restoration of 1939 Leyland TD5 [1635]

I have decided to rip out the drivers floor for a couple of reasons but mainly because it is rotten.
It also will make it easy to hot wash the engine making access to the engine easier.
I peeled off this plastic tubing that covers the cables going to the generator.
It looked very untidy and didn't seal around the connectors.
Also I need to tidy up the fusebox area.

What a job this was getting out.
4 different size pieces of ply.
The very back and the very front were original and very rotten.
Basically fell apart. Amazingly not much rust around the securing sections.
Now I have easy access for when it's time to hot wash.
I can to get to most of the engine and chassis bits and pieces.
I will still have to get under the front but will worry about that later.
I ended up taking the generator cables off to clean and probably now won't put the cables inside the plastic tube I got yesterday.
Rather I will wrap the 2 cables together with harness tape I have plenty of.
It will look much better.
By the way, me trying to work in this area is about the same as a bloody fox trying to get down a rabbit hole.

Have you though about shrink-wrap tubes for those cables?
Norman Julian
Brian Blunt actually haven't!
