The Preservation of 1937 Leyland TS7 [Waddington built ex Sydney 1389]
2020
Arrival March
- Norman Julian 18th Feb
- Here are some photos I was given by the previous owner.
- Most were when he took delivery of the bus.
- If he had not saved it when he did, it would more than likely been too late now.
- Norman Julian
- Apparently the number box panel section was vandalised from this picture to the next!
- David Wilson
- no.no - I photoshopped the above to see what it would look like
- Ben Summers
- Only three Sydney half cab single deckers are left with their original bodies.
- David Wilson
- When I first saw 1389 up at Schofields in 1977, I couldn't believe it still existed.
- I thought the person who told me had it mixed up with some other sort of bus.
- But there it was and thank goodness it was rescued as the land it was on, was due to be developed for housing.
- I'm hoping a Sydney Albion 1/2 cab will turn up one day but there aren't too many prospects
- Ben Summers
- I think the closest we could get to a Sydney Albion Valkyrie would be a replica, David.
- Norman Julian
- David Wilson do you know of one, or was it just healthy optimism?
- David Wilson
- none are known of.
- The last I ever saw was at Watts Bus Service in Wollongong in 1970 but it dissappeared.
- Had the front filled in but would have been easy to convert back
- Ben Summers
- If that bus is anywhere today, I reckon it would be either in or near Wollongong.

- Dennis 1492 being dragged into into position for the tow truck -at Warren NSW 1983.
- Found completely by accident, I'm hoping an Albion might turn up the same way -or another AEC
- Norman Julian
- David Wilson looks like it was painted in the same colours as 1389!
- David Wilson
- Norman Julian yes West Bankstown Bus Serv - disposed of about 1957
- Ben Summers
- How long was it in Warren, David
- David Wilson
- was at Cumnock initially and moved to Warren in the 1960s
