It's that time of the year again the threat of bushfires is always there.
Last year we had a threat of bushfires around my place and I was really worried for everything I have built up over the years especially the bus I have worked on for so long.
I was going to get an old truck with a water tank or even an ex fire truck but now I have a grand idea.
Because of the new shed with a pretty big rain catchment I am going to put 2 x rainwater tanks consisting of around 25,000 litres in each tank to protect the property.
I already have a fire pump so 50,000 litres of water should be enough for any immediate threat.
The water can also be used to wash cars etc.
The other thing is if the local bushfire brigade need water they can take water from here.

And I assume you clear the immediate surrounding area of all flammable vegetation etc?
What a challenge.

Probably hard for you to imagine right now.
It's probably 0 to 5 degrees at your place whereas it is 35 degrees here right now.

But it worries me too - workshop fires happen in the cold too!
