- Norman Julian 14 Jun
- Bit the bullet and decided on this little gem.
- A motorised beading machine.
- I could have gone for a manual one but it means I have to concentrate with one hand on the work and the other on a turning handle.
- This way with a speed controller on the ground and controlled by my foot I can go as fast or as slow as I like.
- There will be a lot of panels that need attention on this project so rather then try and mend and try to put back into the shape the old panels, replacement is the next option.
- This machine looks like the go.
- It does lots of other things as well which will be needed later on.
- If you look at the other photos you can see the result of what it can do.

These look interesting
- Norman Julian
- I was going to make something but this will do just fine.
- Norman Julian
- These are wheel jacks.
- You slide these under a wheel of a bus or truck after the vehicle has been lifted up by a conventional jack and the centre set of arms are hydraulically lifted to take the weight of the wheel and slide it off the wheel nuts.
- Saves your back because those big wheels are awkward and heavy.
- These pictures show 2 different types.
- Carle Gregory
- I was taught how to take truck tyres off without too much effort or back strain when i start at a transport company
- Andrew Blacklock
- Can pull rear duels off with brake drum in one go to
- Bryce Pender
- Bloody handy kit
- Stuart Brown
- I have car ones and they are fantastic!
- Charles Shipway
- Look good to me Norm GO GET THEM save the old body from pain
- James Leonard Garrod
- So easy that even an IDIOT could use them or do you need me to come up and show you how?
- (Hang on, that didn't come out right)
- Robert Stevenson
- Friend of mine uses a pallet jack.
- If you are on even ground they work fine.
- Pallet jacks can be found relatively cheaply.
- The only advantage one of them may have is the ability to tilt the wheel/drum assembly slightly for fitting.
- Something that a short bar can do quite easily.
- If you are on even ground such as your palace, oops, shed, that shouldnt be needed.
- Andrew Blacklock
- These make easier work of the wheel nuts you need one mate
- Norman Julian 18th Jun
- These are something I have been after for quite a while.
- They will make the restorations a little easier.
- No more wire bristles being stuck in my clothes or feet.
- LOL.
- A decent size sand blasting cabinet and the power to drive it.
- Chris Dempsey
- Now you can go nuts sand blasting Norm don`t sand blast the cat or the dog
- James Leonard
- Garrod Warning, Warning, Danger Will Robinson!
- Maxwell Mcroberts

- Andrew Blacklock
- My next purchase will be a cabinet
- Tony Simpson-Morgan
- Nothing like new tots for the shed!!!!!!
- Norman Julian
- The compressor I would have liked is bigger than this, the only problem is the access and the weight.
- Need a forklift to get it in and the access.
- I decided to go for this. Free air is about 475 litres per minute. 100 litre tank. To run one of these bl…See more
- Andrew Blacklock
- Norman Julian add extra air tank to help.
- Can also use old car lpg tanks for this and you can get them cheap
- Norman Julian
- You overwork the motors too much and they produce more water and water is the enemy of a sandblaster, even with drip filters.
- Andrew Blacklock
- Norman Julian a water trap close to the cabinet is the go.
- The other thing is put a smaller el cheapo compressor in tandem with it
- Norman Julian 23rd Jun
- First thing I did was to make this unit mobile and at the same time brought it up to a better working height for me. The trolley has brakes so it can sit still if needed.
- I also made it a little wider so as to hold the dust container and using steel angle I will put a shelf in to hold extra stuff.
- The other thing was to test out properly the new compressor.
- I placed the new filter/reg and it works really well.
- Pumps the bus tyre up quicker than the other 2 I have and the motor only came on once.
- Marea Julian
- Clever Dick
- James Webb
- I was reading some of the mods somebody did to one of those blasting cabinets Norman, one of them was to hinge the glass to make it easier to clean and extra lighting inside.
- Norman Julian
- Yeah!
- I'm concentrating on making it mobile and then the dust extraction.
- That white container in the picture is the dust collector.
- It will have a vortex funnel sitting on top with a hose going to the cabinet and a hose to the vacuum cleaner.
- I would like to use it first before I do any modifying of the cabinet so I can experience first hand its handycaps.
- If any.
- Anton Frank
- James the one we had at work, I use to put an A3 laminating sheet through the laminator.
- Then trim it too size and put it behind the glass to slow down the pitting.
- Worked great.
- Norman Julian
- Anton Frank sounds like a plan.
- Thanks little buddy
- Greg Gibson
- Norman Julian I’m no expert and I have one of these cabinets.
- It’s downfall to me is the dust extraction and the lighting
- James Webb
- I can't remember where I read it but he used led lights inside and beefed up the extraction, a shop vac doth butter no parsnips.
- Andrew Blacklock
- Greg Gibson get one of these off eBay for $30 for dust extraction
- Andrew Blacklock
- Greg Gibson screw to a bucket and go from there
- Greg Gibson
- Andrew Blacklock I will look into this
- Norman Julian 24th Jun
- You wouldn't believe the grief I have had with ordering the white beading machine on the right.
- Hare and Forbes wont have any till at least September and the company on E-bay told me outright lies so It had turned me off it a little so I turned to another company known as "Metal Man Tools" and the guy there couldn't be anymore helpful.
- Unfortunately it is a little more expensive and has less mandrels but it is made here in Australia and it looks a little easier to use.
- James Webb
- That's the bloke from Shepparton yer?
- Norman Julian
- Yes, Stewart is his name!
- Norman Julian 29 Jun
- This is my solution to a problem of wondering which one to buy!
- John Clarke
- How did Bunnings go?
- Norman Julian
- My wife is still there till around 4pm
- Peter Velthuis
- They both suck.
- Norman Julian
- Yes very well too!
- Peter Velthuis
- Hey, Its for dust mate!!.
- Norman Julian
- Of course!
- Garth Taylor
- The one that looks like a blue R2D2.
- Norman Julian 28 Jun
- This piece for the dust extraction arrived today.
- Tomorrow I'm getting the vacuum unit.
- The idea is a vacuum hose from the cabinet connects to the side entrance of the pictured unit.
- The dust goes into this unit and a vortex is created by way of the vacuum unit which is connected by a hose through the top of this unit and to the vacuum machine.
- This container is taking in the dust and not the cleaner.
- In theory the vacuum cleaner should only see minimal dust.
- Robert Stevenson
- They see lots and lots of fine particles still.
- Had a few at work that operated on a similar principle.
- They used the vortex to drop the media to the bottom, and the hose to the nozzle ran from there.
- All the media was in the bottom of the tank.
- Thats also where you topped up the media.
- There was also vacuum applied to the tank to grab the dust, but the main vacuum was in the chamber itself.
- The filters were 1000 x 400 roughly and would gather a lot of dust during the day.
- We had a beater system on it where we shook the filters to clear them, and the particles fell away into another tray for disposal.
- Brian Blunt
- If you are using garnet as the blasting medium, it will break down into dust fairly quickly.
